My grandfather was born in Monferrato, in a country town, was a farmer for most of his life.

My father one day I come 'from school and tell' to my grandfather that coal came from the wood.
My grandfather did not believe it. And we never believed.

He noted that the nature throughout his life could not understand how such a thing could happen.
His experience was his measuring instrument in the world.
The coal was coal.
The wood was wood.
And he was always cheerful.
